Sangin Sara

Born the daughter of the late Pastor Samuel Williams Sr, Sara has been singing since the age of 2. Like many other musicians, she got her start in the Church, and her roots are grounded in the Gospel.
At the age of 11, she became a member of NANM inc., and began to study classical music. She competed in and won several classical voicecompetitions, and continues to serve as an active member of the organization today.
In high school and college, Sara discovered a love of jazz music, and began to study such notables as Sarah Vaughn, Ella Fitzgerald, and Billie Holiday. She has performed jazz for several events, including a celebration for San Francisco’s Japanese Consul General, in conjunction with Yoshi’s San Francisco.
While at Dartmouth College, Sara was the director for the Dartmouth gospel choir, and performed the lead role of Lan in Michael Robert's laudable Senior Thesis project, "Lotus Blooming in a Sea of Fire".
Sara has performed at many local venues, including Maxwell’s Lounge, Q’s Lounge, Rasselas, Yoshis, Oakland and San Francisco, and the San Francisco Juneteenth festival, as well as for private events for the San Francisco mayor and Public Defender.
She also lends her talent in the studio, with such esteemed producers as Carl Wheeler and Rex Rideout.
Sara has been fortunate enough to grace the stage with artists such as D’Wayne Wiggins, Eric Roberson, Dave Hollister, and grammy winning song writer Gordon Chambers.
She is currently a touring background singer for two time grammy nominated artist, Ledisi and Neo-soul artist, N'dambi
