One month after graduating from Dartmouth with a degree in East Asian Languages and Literatures, Masaru moved to Japan to teach English while pursing his Chinese martial arts training. He found his way into the entertainment industry when scouted for a TV commercial at a martial arts demonstration. Through that job he met with members of the Tokyo based AAC STUNTS and soon began training as a professional stuntman. Using the professional name "Mark Musashi," Masaru worked as both stuntman and actor on several Japanese films and television shows as well as numerous internationally recognized video games. His unique ethnic look and martial arts ability led to considerable notoriety among followers of Japanese "tokusatsu" (action/sci-fi) both within Japan and worldwide. Early in 2008, Masaru/Mark relocated to Los Angeles in order to pursue a career in U.S. entertainment by taking part in the shooting of Kamen Rider: Dragon Knight.
