James LaVigne

James LaVigne is a principal and co-founder of Vigorous Pictures, an independent film production company funded by private equity. The company is currently developing a slate of film and television projects and is partnered with such producers as Imagine Entertainment, RSA/Scott Free Productions, Furthur Films and Original Media.
 
Prior to forming Vigorous Pictures, he was Vice President, Development and Production at Furthur Films, Michael Douglas’ production company, where he oversaw feature film development and ran day-to-day operations for the company.  During his eight years with the company (since its inception in 1999), he was integrally involved in the development and production of a wide array of feature films including THE SENTINEL, DON’T SAY A WORD, THE IN-LAWS and SWIMFAN.
 
Previously, LaVigne represented film and television rights to books and other literary properties at The Sterling Lord Literistic Agency in New York. He began his entertainment career as an agent trainee at the William Morris Agency.
