Since graduating Dartmouth college in 1997, Eyal Podell has been working steadily as an an actor and writer in Hollywood. In 2006, Eyal began working with current writing partner Jon Stewart on USONIA, a script that is close to his heart. It tells the story of how Eyal's grand uncle and grandparents founded a utopian cooperative community in Westchester county NY under the guidance of Frank Lloyd Wright. He first began his writing career with the feature script HOMELAND, a political thriller about two childhood best friends, a Palestinian and an Israeli, who after re-uniting as adults are then torn apart by the current conflict. Additionally, he's penned with partner Stewart two TV comedy pilots, BROTHERHOOD and KARMA, USA along with several other feature scripts and treatments at various levels of development.
On the acting front, he most recently starred as Evram Mintz in Defying Gravity, a 13 part one-hour ABC drama about a team of astronauts on a six-year mission in outer space. Among Eyal’s many recent television credits are multiple episode arcs on such prime time hit series as FOX's 24 and the CW's The Game, along with stand out guest star turns on House, Bones, CSI, THE EVENT, and the upcoming HARRY's LAW. He has also starred in the ABC family original film A Pizza My Heart, and in Hallmark Channel's At First Sight. Among his additional television credits are CSI:NY, ER, The West Wing, E-Ring, Commander in Chief, Crossing Jordan, Eyes, Spike Lee's Sucker Free City, and a two year run on the top rated daytime drama The Young and the Restless.
In his first year in Hollywood, Eyal made his big screen debut playing Al Pacino's son in The Insider, and has gone on to work alongside Gene Hackman in Behind Enemy Lines. Other film credits include Unconditional Love, Blowing Smoke, and the independent feature Hard Scrambled. His most recent film, Lake Effects, is currently in post production.
