Alexander Panov majored in Studio Arts and, after graduation, began to exhibit his artwork in New York and then California. In 2001 he was recognised as an "artist of extraordinary ability in fine arts" and granted Permanent Residency in the U.S. by the U.S. Department of Justice. Becoming an American, Alex decided to move to Los Angeles where he continued with exhibitions, made artwork and illustrations for music videos, commercials, and later feature films and TV shows like "Click," "Dreamgirls," "Spiderman 3," and "Nip/Tuck." This led to art directing of feature films. He joined Art Director's Guild with films "Finding Amanda" (Matthew Broderick), "No Place like Home" (Danny DeVito) and "Slammin' Salmon" (Michael Clarke Duncan). Alexander currently art directs and produces commercials, music videos, and films for the Russian market. He is looking forward to co-operating with any Dartmouth Alums in bringing rapidly growing Eastern European Media resources to Los Angeles and vice versa.
