Alex Kondracke

Alex has recently been hired to write a movie for Newline called JENBOT. She worked as a segment producer for Academy Award-winning documentarian Arnold Shapiro (SCARED STRAIGHT, BIG BROTHER) and then returned to New York to attend NYU's graduate film school, where she studied both directing and cinematography. Her first short narrative film, ICE FISHING, won awards at Sundance 2000. Her cinematography reel landed her a job shooting for Academy Award-nominated producer, Jonathan Stack (THE FARM). While still at NYU, Alex began shooting and directing documentaries for Discovery, TLC, BBC, VH-1 and most recently National Geographic. Alex's script, SUNSET PARK, won the ABC/Disney New Talent Grant and she began production on a narrative film about teenagers in East L.A. The film (now called WHAT I KNOW ABOUT HER) has since received two prestigious finishing grants: the Warner Brothers grant and the Caucus foundation grant. Alex directed second unit on the upcoming Screen Gems movie, D.E.B.S. and was chosen to be a 2005 ABC/Disney directing fellow. Alex lives in Los Angeles.
